2013. Cloth remnants, thread

I have bought some remnant of cloth from some factories in a Special Economic Zone of an industrial estate in Mae

Sot District, Tak Province and asked a sewer in Chiang Rai province sewn these remnants to be a piece of quilt.

Most of factories in the industrial estate in Mae Sot are instant clothing factories, as well as textile, dolls and shoes. 

Almost of their daily workers are from Myanmar who are paid so cheaply for their labor and with no labor union covered. 

This work reflects my acknowledgement toward community in Chiang Rai city that it is under a changing state into an

economic port which is pushed by the government to be a Special Economic Zone.
