Snowy Night
2010 l Single-Channel HD Video l 4 min 09 sec l silent
On a night in an early spring, there was an unusually heavy snowstorm in Montpellier, a tropical city in southern France. This
workpiece was inspired by aesthetics of Japanese black and white film. There were six long takes without moving, zooming
or panning a camera except the last shot which I tried to use a concept of Semiology to communicate with audience.
The purpose of this video was to represent a great danger such as global warming. It was believed that one of main causes
was excessive energy consumption.
